  • Working girl

I bought a purple jumper and a green top on the weekend my first purchases as a working girl! It felt really good to be able to buy something again knowing it was with the money i earned. Im planning to save money each week but still have a little bit of money to buy the odd top or boots etc.

The baby sitting/ english teaching is going really well the smallest girl got 10 out of 10 in her english test which was good. Its funny teaching them, we read books in english, i have flash cards with animals on, clothing which i found on the internet. We write down the names of things in english, play simon says to remember things like feet, hands etc. I think im going to save to do the course which will give me the proper qualification to work teaching english perhaps in a school or something.

At least now i can give some money towards the upkeep of the flat which makes me feel more useful and i think Alex is happy about it to.

The local shop is now selling meat so i can easily buy some to make our dinners a bit more varied. I was always to nervous to go to the butchers as communicating with him in italian seemed a bit daunting!

Its still really warm here and its almost the begining of November its really strange! In england its usely quiet cold now. I wonder how mild its going to be for christmas? Alex has suggested we go to Tuscany maybe for christmas which i think would be a good idea if we can go.

  • PMT or not to PMT

Well my period this month was late in starting 4 days in and there was nothing now finally on the 5th day its started. I had started to get a bit worried especially as i've been back on the pill now a month and its never happened to me before. But this morning there it was and now the cramps are settling in as well and are painful.

I have the italian class this morning but i dont feel like going, its really bad as they have been paid for and i missed a day last week as well but im not in the mood. The teacher isnt very inspiring and she always seems disappointed when i dont understand what shes saying sometimes.

The babysitting i will go to in the afternoon, thats going very well and the kids seem to like me alot. It was fun playing simon says to teach them the names of their feet, hands, eyes, nose etc in English. Plus my period cramps tend to ease of in the afternoons anyway.

I cant believe we only have 9 more weeks to christmas now! where has all the time gone? It means i have been here almost a year! I still can't believe it!

Im feeling a bit weepy now time of the month strikes again, its weird how your mood can change so swiftly when it comes and how you can start thinking negatively when your usely a positive person!

  • And work appears!

We finally i have some babysitting work!! One of the familys i met with decided to give me a go which is great, i might add its with a family i found myself and not through that useless agency! The 2 little girls are very nice and sweet and i have to start researching some games and things in English we can do. They loved singing an English childrens song i taught them so i will probably do that again. Its 3 days a week and is the same days as my course so i have that in the morning and the babysitting in the afternoon, and tues and thurs are free days!B)

I made friends with a girl called Krystel on the italian course shes really nice we have been out to lunch after the lessons twice and go for nice long walks which we are going to make a habit of. It nice to make new friends and just have people to talk to, i tried getting in contact with a few of the girls from my old course but only 2 texted back.:>>

Its still really hot here even in October! but cold in the evenings. I have seen Halloween decorations in a few shops and apparently i was told they dont really celebrate it its more a commerical thing for them. But it will be nice to see if theres any scary movies to watch that evening or something to do to celebrate the evening it is once a year! :DD

  • Jess, The Vatican and 2 pairs of tired legs!

I meet up with Jessica yesterday and it was so much fun! I was a bit nervous as i got to the metro but once we found eachother it was great! Shes lovely and we get on so well :D after two metro trips we made it to the Vatican and the line to get in was pretty big but strangly it moved quite quickly i guess all the talking we did could have distracted us as well hee hee.

Once we were inside we followed the other tourists in the direction everyone was going in and saw some pretty amazing statues and relics etc. There were guards everywhere shouting if you used the flash on your camera but the tourists still carried on using them. At one point i thought we were lost the place is so big and some of the rooms were windy with small stairs leading here and there! :>> I do recomend good walking shoes as you will need them!

After that we stopped by a shop that sells international foods! I found peanut butter there, colemans mustard, american hot dogs and Tomato soup!! I was sooooo happy to finally find tomato soup and it was all down to Jessica! :DD

After that we got lost for an hour and walked in an area i didnt know but it was ok it was all fun and adventure B) and i think we both had alot of fun! Once we found the Irish pub we settled down for lunch. Our feet were killing us and we were both pretty tired! :zz: She asked me to come visit her in Verona! So at some point i can plan a trip to visit her and when she comes back to Roma we can hang out. (Thanks for the lovely day Jess is was great! cheers!)

By the time i got home my legs were stiff and aching and i needed a hot bath, even today my legs ache but its all good exercise!:>> and it was soooooooooo much fun!

I went out on friday night to the Hard Rock Cafe in Roma i have never been to one before even when i lived in London. It was really fun! it was a really nice place and the food was excellent!! along with the devine cocktail i had as well :DD it was another girls night out which was fantastic and next time we might try a movie in English or Italian with subtitles!

Still no luck with work i saw 2 familys last week and have heard nothing! I really didnt think it was going to be so tough! I can understand they want the best person for the children but how many babysitters can there be out there in Roma!?! |-|

I bought a cookery book yesterday all in italian about how to make different pastas! Im quite looking forwards to translating it and starting to cook some of the stuff! Hopefully i wont blow the kitchen up!

I heard from my friend Andy last night hes engaged to his American girlfriend and very happy! they marry in Feb! Im so happy for him! And he told me my other friend Madhavi has finally had her baby a little boy although the labour was apparently long and unpleasant but there both doing fine! Im so pleased for them all its all great news! :D
